Flavorful Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Dough Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)

Filling Ingredients

  • 21 can strawberry pie filling
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp sugar

Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 4 ounce cream cheese (softened)
  • 3 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla

To Make The Rolls:

  1. In a small saucepan and over medium heat, add the milk and butter.

  2. Stir until the butter melts and remove from heat.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 1/2 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

  4. Add the egg and water and mix until just starting to combine.

  5. Slowly add in the milk mixture and 1 cup of flour until the dough starts to form and becomes smooth.

  6. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.

  7. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 9×15 square.

  8. Spread strawberry pie filling evenly on top of the dough.

  9. In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle on top of the strawberry filling.

  10. Roll up the 15 inch side into a log and pinch the seams.

  11. Cut into 9-12 slices depending on how thick you want your cinnamon rolls to be.

  12. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise for 30 minutes.

  13. Bake for 30 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

To Make The Glaze

  1. Beat together the cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth.

  2. Add the half and half, vanilla, lemon juice, and lemon zest until combined.

  3. Frost over warm cinnamon rolls.

  4. Serve and enjoy!
