Matcha Filled Chocolate Molten Lava Cake Recipe

Matcha Lava Cake Recipe

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp matcha powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg yolk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2-3 tsp flour

Matcha Ice Cream Recipe

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 7 oz condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp matcha powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

For Matcha Lava Cake

  1. In a bowl on bain-marie, melt white chocolate with oil and matcha powder until smooth. Pour into ice cube molds and freeze for 15 minutes.

  2. In a bowl on bain-marie, melt butter and chocolate until smooth. Set aside.

  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, egg yolks, and sugar with hand mixer on high speed. Pour egg mixture into chocolate mixture, add flour, and gently mix until combined.

  4. In ramekins, butter and dust with flour thoroughly. Add 1 scoop of lava cake batter at the bottom, then add matcha white chocolate cubes in middle. Cover with more lava cake batter and bake for 7-9 minutes at 450 degrees.

  5. Invert ramekin on plate and let cool for 10 minutes. It will pop right out. 

For Matcha Ice Cream

  1. In a bowl, whip heavy whipping cream, matcha powder, vanilla, and salt until stiff peaks form. Add in 7 oz of condensed milk and mix until combined. Whip again with hand mixer to incorporate air. Freeze for 4 hours until ice cream has frozen.

  2. Serve together and enjoy!!!
