Decadence at its best!
Malted deserts take one back to the 1950’s as these deserts were most prevalent during that era. This thick creamy malted cheesecake is stuffed with malted milk ball bits, is baked over a malted shortbread crust, coated with a decadent dark chocolate ganache which is finally topped with crushed malted milk ball bits.
The cheesecake is decadent and rich in taste with its multiple malted components and thick creamy dark chocolate ganache. Each component needs to be made separately and assembled together which makes for a bit of effort but after one sees the end result the effort seems more than worth it.

Malted Shortbread Crust
1 stick butter, softened
⅓ cup granulated sugar
3 Tbsp malted milk powder
1⅓ cup all-purpose flour
3 8-oz packages cream cheese, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
½ cup malted milk powder
⅓ cup sour cream
2 cups semi-crushed malted milk balls
Dark Chocolate Ganache
1⅓ cup (8 oz) dark chocolate chips (if you prefer to have a milk chocolate topping, simply substitute the dark chocolate chips for milk chocolate ones)
½ cup heavy cream
Additional ½ cup semi-crushed milk balls to sprinkle on top
