Traditional Turkish Kanafeh With Milk Pudding

So Milky and Cheesy!

Kanafeh is a traditional middle eastern cheese pastry is soaked in sugar syrup to make a creamy sweet recipe. The Turkish version of this recipe includes wiry shreds of pastry called tel kadayif . These wiry shreds are layered with a milky smooth pudding in the middle between two tel kadayif layers. This recipe has the addition of ground walnut to add an element of nutty flavor to the sweetness of the milk pudding.

This dish is topped with pistachios or walnuts to give it a more middle eastern, exotic look to it. This dish is perfect if you’re looking for a milky middle eastern dish rather than a run of the mil cake or pudding.
